I have 750 credit on all 3 bureaus. Where can I go for money?

June 15, 2010 - 1:38 pm 4 Comments

I have 750 credit on all 3 bureaus. My credit has been pulled a few times so some banks dont like that. But my credit is great.

Where should I go to get money?

Your score isn’t the only thing they look at. What is your ratio when it comes to your income and your expenses. They especially look at your unsecured credit. I have credit scores of 765 and higher but my unsecured debt is to high for anyone to give a loan. Try your personal bank or credit union that you have done business with for years.

How to bring my address current with all 3 major credit bureaus?

June 15, 2010 - 1:38 pm 3 Comments

They still have my old (3 yrs. ago) address on file, and no record of my current address. I need to update them so I can get copies of my credit reports sent to me (at my proper/current address). I do not want them sent to my old address.

What is the fastest way to do this?

Can I do this online somehow?

It’s hard to do that type of change online. You can give it a try but they usually want proof of your address.

If online doesn’t work, call them. When they will ask you to send proof, if you are in a big rush to get it changed, request a fax number so you can fax copies of anything they may request.

If they do, send them a copy of your electric bill or other utility bill. Be sure to mark out your account number. ALL they need to see is that it is in your name, on that bill, at that address, they don’t need to see anything else.

If you have to send a copy of your drivers license, take a copy of it and mark out your DL number.

Yes. My credit card from Bank of America is reported to all three credit bureaus every month.

When searching for the 3 credit bureaus mailing addresses I have come up with some different ones..?

Is there more than one valid mailing address for each? If not can someone tell me for sure which are correct? Thanks.

Is it legal for creditors to report to all 3 credit bureaus?

June 15, 2010 - 5:44 am 9 Comments

Yes it is. And, if you would be more responsible, and only buy what you can afford, or at least pay your debts, you wouldn’t have to worry about it.

700 Credit scores from all 3 credit bureaus but have 8 yr old state tax lien. Can I get mortguage financing.?

June 15, 2010 - 5:44 am 3 Comments

Just wondering if I will be turned down. I have a good job, good credit but have this ugly 8 yr old state tax lien that is unpaid .

Not without paying the lien first.

The obvious reason is if your still owe the tax lien then your State can place a lien on any property you may own, so no mortgage lender will give you a loan unless you pay the lien first.

Good luck.

Has anyone successfully corrected their credit history through the 3 major credit bureaus?

I have an error on my credit report, it shows an agency that has an account that is still open and in delinquent status, however the balance was settled in 2004. I sent an investigation inquiry through the experian website but still have not heard from them, this was over 11 months ago. Is there any getting through to these credit bureaus?

Did you verify that it is still being reported incorrectly? By law the Credit Reporting Agencies have 30(some cases 45) days to investigate and respond to a dispute. So if it has been 11 months you need to see what is going on. You could spend the time to try and find out what happened to the original dispute, but it might be simpler to send in a new dispute.

But this time send your dispute by certified mail with return receipt, so you have physical proof of when you sent it. Now, what to dispute depends on how old the account is. Negative items must be removed after 7 years from the date of first delinquency. That is the date of your first delinquency on the account that you settled, paying it off does not reset this time. If it is past 7 years you can actually dispute it to have it removed due to age.

Now, if it is still within 7 years, hopefully you have proof that the amount you paid was to settle the account. You need a copy of this proof in with your dispute. This proof could be things like a letter that says you paid in full, or a copy of their written offer with your cancelled check(s). If you don’t have anything in writing the company could claim that the amount you paid was just a payment and did not in fact settle the account.

If Experian still says it is valid, you then need to dispute it directly with the company reporting the incorrect information. You also need to check your other two reports, as this may be on these also.

When getting a rental, do they check credit history from all 3 bureau or only 1?

June 15, 2010 - 4:14 am 2 Comments

We recently got a rental that we will move in this month and they supposedly checked both of us’ credit history but I just checked Equifax and there was no inquiry for me in the last 2 years. Do potential landlord/agency check credit history from all 3 or 1 bureau? Out of 3 credit bureaus, which one is most up to date and reliable/accurate?

Everything depends on the landlord, but most only check 1 bureau. While all 3 bureau’s have reports all over the country, it seems like each part of the country has a favorite one used by businesses. So, as to which one is most up to date and reliable, they all should be, but one is checked most often in your area.
